Being Magnetic, Random Thoughts

Do We Always Have To Slut Shame Women?!

If you were like millions of people last night, you probably watched the Super Bowl Half Time show. I mean, I did and I didn’t even watch the game, lol. I was more invested in the commercials and the anticipated performance. Shit, you should have seen me last night reading, writing and even taking a shower during the game, lol.

But when it came to the commercials, I had to watch for the silliness. And I wanted to see two sexy Latinas throw it out of the ballpark. I was impressed with the dance numbers, their costumes and their bodies. I was also proud to see two women who are older than 40 years old shake what their momma gave them as if they were 21 years old. And I felt a huge blessing in my heart to know they were minority women of color giving our president subtle signs of a “fuck you”. The last thing I felt was “uncomfortable”.

Apparently that is what some people felt. They felt these two gorgeous women were trashy and not “family friendly” enough. They thought their costumes were too revealing. They thought JLo spinning on a pole was distasteful. You know what I think? I think they should pull that pole out of their asses. Holy shit. Their costumes didn’t reveal anything (have you been to the beach?!) and their dance moves were FIYAH! Attacking these two based on their performance attire or any attire is frivolous and ridiculous. Slut shaming these women and calling them inappropriate is too far for me to comprehend.

The Half Time show is a performance my dears and the costumes will be outrageous and the dance moves a bit crazy, that is expected. If you want something more rated G, watch Daniel Tiger react into a fit of rage (like the viewers who complained) and then sing a song about how he should not have reacted inappropriately (for the 500th time). And stop making it about their costumes and their attire. Women should be able to wear the fuck they want, especially when they are PERFORMING. When are we going to stop hurting other women? Do you want a REAL Handmaids tale?!
