Love Letter #43

When our eyes met

it sent

a chill up my spine

like I had never felt before

strong wind came in and swept through the door

of my closed heart

opened it up expansively wide

when I saw you

the smile you gave me was mischievous and clever

it sparked something that was buried deep inside

I didn’t want to hide

you were the missing link that I was searching for

I wanted to get to know you so much more

to see what made your heart skip a beat

but then you closed your eyes

and I just became a memory

The “Love Letters” Series will be a collection of poetry written for and about love. Please comment below if you’re enjoying my thoughts and words. Some of these poems can be read as “Spoken Word” or a “Rap Song” or with a “Taylor Swift” angst, lol. – Peace and Love
