Love Letter #37

I know I have to thank the Universe from sparing me

From a life of heartache and misery

It saved me the time and the wasted energy

From a fool who didn’t know the difference

from a good woman and a good time

I look back through the years of time spent with a wonderful man

I thank the Universe that he had a hand

In making my thoughts and feelings coming true

Because he spared me from ever fuckin with you

I see you got a good woman right by your side

If she only knew the things you’re trying to hide

You’re a good person but not as a mate

You’re just a person that I used to once date

As the years gone by I always wondered how you were

But I see you’re still the boy who left me all in a blur

Confused then and even more confused now

But now I won’t allow

For the cycle to keep on repeating

Beating

That same drum of in and out of my life

I have forgotten you and now rid of your strife

Once and for all

I will never ever fall

For your smooth lines and your alibis

Boy it’s time for me to peace out and say good bye

The “Love Letters” Series will be a collection of poetry written for and about love. Please comment below if you’re enjoying my thoughts and words. Some of these poems can be read as “Spoken Word” or a “Rap Song” or with a “Taylor Swift” angst, lol. – Peace and Love
