Love Letter #26

I feel like I am on psychedelic drugs

When whispering sweet nothings to you

Feeling stoned, a bird on the highest ledge

Asking , begging to pledge your love to me

You look at me with an emptiness in your eyes

Watching you through my dim lit eyes

Fully catching you in your lies

Telling me you’ll never disappear

Only letting the words I want to hear

Slip out of your slithering mouth

Chameleon changing colors to ease my mind

But I knew through experience in due time

You’ll be gone before I even had a chance to say goodbye

But it was still the best ever high

I have had in a while

Turning down and up my heart like a dial

Ready for my next hit

When will you pass that pill

I want to be high on you again

But I know

if I had to wait

There would be no debate

I would be dead

Waiting for you to never come again

The “Love Letters” Series will be a collection of poetry written for and about love. Please comment below if you’re enjoying my thoughts and words. Some of these poems can be read as “Spoken Word” or a “Rap Song” or with a “Taylor Swift” angst, lol. – Peace and Love
