Love Letter #25

Would love it if I could just wake up and not think of you
Not reach for my phone expecting a message
When I know I wouldn’t get one
Said. Finish. Nada. Done.
But my heart is having trouble moving on
Playing that same beat……on and on and on
Wishing, wishing these feelings would be gone
But no
Another day goes by
I hold back the tears
But wanting to so desperately cry
Resisting the urge to reach out to you
Saying “please don’t forget me”
But all I do is turn this tear stained stew
Of self loathing and yearning
To be held once again
By your warm forbidden embrace
Why can’t I face
That you’ve moved on
And living your life without me
Leaving me here in the corner of the couch
Like a forgotten pile of debris
