This morning I was scrolling through Instagram and Kylie Jenner’s post appeared on my feed. The first emotion that I felt was a tad bit of jealousy but then I read what she had written under her photo with a beautiful sunset. She posted about her ups and her downs through out her young adult life and how she has struggled and grown. She also encouraged her followers to be “gentle with yourself, move on and let go”, and that we are all capable of great things. She asked her followers to be “unapologetic and do more of what makes you happy”.
While I have a love/hate relationship with this family, I realized after reading that post that I should not have a distorted view on someone I do not know and should, nevertheless, judge. Her post resonated with me so profoundly that it caused me to gain my respect for her.
It’s true, we should live our lives not caring about what other people think and we SHOULD do more things that make us happy, regardless of the naysayers. I think if we ALL did this we would never feel the urge to put others down, control them or feel jealousy towards anyone anymore. Kylie may be less than half my age, but in that post she really showed that she was well beyond her years.
